Park(ing) Day hits Peachtree Street

Park(ing) Day is an annual global event where cities temporarily transform and activate parking spaces to call attention to the need for more urban space for people. Join Central Atlanta Progress and the Department of City Planning for Park(ing) Day on Friday, September 30th from 11am-3pm to explore the Peachtree Shared Space.

The demonstration project along Peachtree Street between Baker and Ellis Streets showcases the ways we can use existing space, usually designated for cars, to improve the experience of being in Downtown Atlanta. On Park(ing) Day, come explore a range of free activities along all three blocks and join Atlanta residents in imagining ways Downtown can be friendlier for cars, businesses, and people.

CAP “works to build a 21st century Downtown as the heart of the Atlanta region, a vibrant community with strong leadership and sustainable infrastructure that is safe, livable, diverse, economically viable, accessible, clean, hospitable, and entertaining.” Its membership includes corporations, small local businesses, civic organizations, regional leaders, and property owners.
